Web hosting
Affordable web hosting in Switzerland: the same price when you renew
Web hosting is only cheap if it still costs little in the third year. At HostOn you pay the same price at every renewal as when you ordered, with no introductory discount that disappears after twelve months.
Why the introductory price says little on its own
Many offers advertise a low price that applies only to new customers and only for the first term. From renewal you pay the regular price, which is often much higher. Sometimes there are also costs that are not in the monthly price: a setup fee, the domain from the second year, paid restores from backup or an SSL certificate. So always compare the total over three years, including VAT.
Our approach: one price for every year
There are no teaser prices at HostOn. You renew hosting, VPS and email at the same price you paid when you ordered. The fixed price applies as long as you stay on the same plan without interruption; changes to VAT are reserved. For domains we show the registration and renewal price openly side by side, because for some extensions the first year is cheaper.
| Service | At HostOn |
|---|---|
| Price in year 1 | CHF 11.90/month (Web Hosting Rigi) |
| Price from renewal | CHF 11.90/month, the same as in year 1 |
| Setup fee | CHF 0 |
| SSL certificate | Free for all domains (AutoSSL) |
| Daily backups | Included, restore yourself in cPanel at no charge |
| Mailboxes | Unlimited |
| Migration of your website | Free, usually within 24–48 hours |
| VAT | Included in all prices (8.1%) |
What does Web Hosting Rigi cost over three years?
| Year | Web Hosting Rigi | .ch domain |
|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | 12 × CHF 11.90 | CHF 6.90 |
| Year 2 | 12 × CHF 11.90 | CHF 14.90 |
| Year 3 | 12 × CHF 11.90 | CHF 14.90 |
| Total 3 years | 36 × CHF 11.90 | CHF 6.90 + 2 × CHF 14.90 |
For hosting, all three years cost the same. For a .ch domain the first year is cheaper than the renewal, and we show that difference openly. If your domain is already with another provider, you can transfer a .ch or .li domain to us free of charge, or leave it where it is and only point the DNS to HostOn.
Tip: On the web hosting page, the 3-year calculator works out what you currently pay your provider over three years. You will find the renewal price on your last invoice.
Even cheaper: WordPress only or email only
If you only run a WordPress website, WordPress Säntis at CHF 10.90 per month is our most affordable hosting plan, with staging, preconfigured LiteSpeed Cache and automatic updates. If you only need email on your own domain, without a website, email hosting starts at CHF 2.90 per month.
How to check an affordable offer in five minutes
- 1Look for the price that applies from renewal, not just the promotional price.
- 2Check whether prices are shown including VAT.
- 3See whether setup, the SSL certificate or restores from backup cost extra.
- 4Add the domain renewal, not just the first year.
- 5Note the term and notice period so the contract does not renew without you wanting it to.
- 6Add everything up to a three-year total and only then compare the offers.
You will find a detailed checklist with worked examples in our guide to affordable web hosting.
Where we do not cut corners
A low price must not come at the expense of security and speed. All web hosting plans run on LiteSpeed with LSCache, CloudLinux isolates the resources of each account, and Imunify360 detects malicious code. You choose the PHP version per domain between 7.4 and 8.5 and install more than 400 apps via Softaculous. Support is available by ticket in six languages.
Term and cancellation
Web hosting is billed yearly: when ordering you pay 12 × the monthly price. The contract runs for 12 months and renews at the same price unless you cancel. You can cancel in the client area up to 14 days before expiry. You can move to a larger plan at any time without migration; you only pay the difference for the remaining term.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we are asked most often about this service.
Web Hosting Rigi for websites with cPanel and up to 10 domains. If you only run one WordPress website, WordPress Säntis is slightly cheaper still. Both plans are billed yearly, and the price stays the same at renewal.
No. You renew hosting at the same price you paid when you ordered, as long as you stay on the same plan without interruption; changes to VAT are reserved. For domains, renewal can cost more than the first year depending on the extension, and both prices are shown openly on our website.
There is no setup fee, and SSL, daily backups including restores and the migration of your website are included. You pay separately for the domain and for optional services such as a validated SSL certificate.
Because a discount that disappears after twelve months hides the real cost. We prefer to show a price that also applies in the second and third year. Over three years, that is often cheaper than a teaser offer.
Web hosting and WordPress hosting are billed yearly, which keeps administration and prices low. You can pay monthly for VPS and reseller hosting.
