Web hosting Switzerland comparison 2026: 8 providers, first-year and renewal prices

If you are comparing web hosting in Switzerland, put two prices side by side: the price in the first year and the price from renewal. In October 2026, the entry-level plans of eight providers cost between CHF 1.26 and CHF 15.90 per month in the first year. Calculated over three years, the ranking changes, because some discounts apply only to new customers and only in the first year. On top of that come differences in storage, mailboxes, backups and contract term that put the price into perspective.

How we compared

The comparison is based on the providers’ public pricing pages, accessed on 8 October 2026. For each provider we chose the cheapest regular web hosting plan, so no WordPress-only plan and no website builder. We use the information exactly as the provider states it. Where we could not find a value, the table says «n/a». We did not test performance, loading times or support; this comparison covers prices and terms.

Prices in the first year and from the second year

The table shows the monthly price of the entry-level plan. «No difference stated» means the provider lists only one price and shows neither a promotional nor a different renewal price.

As of October 2026. Prices in CHF per month, incl. VAT unless stated otherwise. For green.ch and HostBott we found no VAT information on the pricing page. Prices and promotions change constantly; the provider’s current pricing page is always what counts.

Two examples show why the second price matters. At green.ch, the larger M plan costs CHF 7.45 instead of CHF 14.90 in the first year, according to the footnote only for new contracts and only in the first subscription year. At Swizzonic, the promotional price applies only to new purchases and only in the first year; after that, the list price applies.

Tip: Project every offer over three years: 12 months at the promotional price plus 24 months at the renewal price plus one-off fees. Only that total is comparable.

What the entry-level plan includes

Storage ranges from 50 to 250 GB. For a typical SME website with a few dozen pages and a handful of mailboxes, that is enough in every case. The differences in email and backups are bigger: a plan with just one email address does not suit a team, and a backup that only goes back 12 hours is no help if an error is only noticed after a week.

Over three years: the more honest picture

The following calculation assumes that the prices stated today do not change. Where the renewal price is missing, we do not calculate.

The cheapest offers remain cheap over three years, but they include less: less storage, fewer mailboxes or shorter backups. Whether paying more is worth it depends on what you actually need.

Note also that some discounts apply only to certain plans. A promotional price on the mid-range plan can be cheaper in the first year than the same provider’s smallest plan, but more expensive from renewal. So calculate each plan that could suit you separately.

Contract term, cancellation and money-back guarantee

Most entry-level plans run for 12 months and are billed annually in advance. Watch the notice period: if you miss it, the contract often renews automatically for another year. In our comparison, only HostBott explicitly offers monthly billing with no minimum term.

Swiss law has no general right of withdrawal for online orders. Money-back guarantees and withdrawal periods are therefore voluntary, and you should read their conditions, for example whether domains or add-on services are excluded. This is general information, not legal advice.

How to choose the right web hosting

1. Clarify your needs: number of websites, mailboxes per person, storage for website and email.
2. Find the renewal price and calculate the cost over three years.
3. Check backups: frequency, retention, who restores and whether it costs anything.
4. Read the email limits: number and size of mailboxes, sending limit per hour.
5. Note the contract term, notice period and one-off fees.
6. Look at domain prices separately, including renewal from the second year.
7. Clarify the migration: does the provider help with the move, and what does it cost?
