My IP address
This is how the internet sees your connection.
Frequently asked questions
Your internet provider or your network does not provide an IPv6 connection. The website still works normally over IPv4.
With most residential connections in Switzerland, the IPv4 address changes from time to time. Business connections often have a fixed IP address, which you can order from your provider.
For example, to restrict access to a server or an admin panel to your IP address, or when our support team needs to check whether the firewall has blocked you.
A private IP address only applies within your home or company network, for example 192.168.x.x. Towards the internet, all devices usually share the public IP address of your router.
It reveals your internet provider and usually an approximate region, but not your address or your name. Only the provider itself can make that link, for example on the order of an authority.
